The Bucharest office is the most recent addition on the Fitbit map and is situated in one of the most beautiful office buildings in the city, right in the heart of Victory Square.

We are looking for talented and enthusiastic students, eager to hone their skills in QA Automation, Embedded, Mobile or Cloud Software Engineering. As one of our 20 interns, you will get to contribute to our life-changing products that are used by millions of users worldwide.

Embedded Software Engineer

What you'll learn:

  • Embedded programming: microcontrollers and peripherals
  • Work with multiple Operating Systems, wireless communication stacks, device drivers, graphic engines and applications
  • Create user interfaces and develop user-facing applications for wearable devices
  • Developing and enabling new product features in embedded software
  • Work with the latest tools and engineering practices

QA Automation

What you’ll learn:

  • Best practices and cutting-edge techniques to automate tests within various frameworks
  • How to identify, isolate and troubleshoot bugs.
  • How to measure impact and severity in order to prioritise bugs.
  • How to become proficient with CI and network debugging tools such as Jenkins and Charles Proxy

Cloud Software Engineer

What you’ll learn:

  • Java language and ecosystem features
  • Various Cloud Technologies
  • DevOps skills
  • Get familiar with dev and build tools (best practices to write good code, unit tests)
  • Design cloud applications in Java that scale to millions of users
  • Develop resilient microservices that are monitored 24/7
  • Measure what matters and implement alerts
  • Best practices to write great code and unit tests
  • Release on various environments to test and assess performance of the feature before going live
  • Progressive roll-outs to Production

Mobile Software Engineer

What you'll learn:

  • Android & iOS fundamentals and architectures and how to apply this knowledge
  • Regardless of the technical cluster that you will choose you will definitely:
  • Get a good understanding of what it takes to build awesome wearable devices
  • You will get mentoring from senior engineers on design and architecture best practices, patterns and processes
  • Learn to promote an overall culture of high speed quality deliverables
  • Learn to work in an Agile environment
  • Learn to work in global environment across multiple locations and cultures

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BsC or MsC Computer Science degree
  • Good command of a scripting language: Python, JavaScript, Bash, etc. or any widespread programming language: C, C++, Java, etc.
  • Some familiarity with Linux operating systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Big plus: highlight any and all contributions to open-source, school projects etc (code portfolio)
